Default Re: Diary of a frustrated programmer

    @TS

Visual pa at. Net (ver. 2010). Never pa ako nagturo ng C++ at kahit anong. NET PLs nung time na yun.

Minsan REBOL CGI + MONGOOSE WEB SERVER via Tiny Core Linux. Para makasabay naman sa industry, a minimal PHP for CGI + XiTAMi webserver (via WiNE kapag Linux gamit ko) . Puro lighweight mga 'to. GoodLuck!

para mag compete tayo sa I.T world or software industry kailangan mag build tayo ng portfolio for example you are a student you dont have any experience to show to the employer, You need to build something like for example build website or build software on your own benefits. or build and app publish it to playstore or appstore. that things make employeer hire you. then for example if you are already graduate and you want land a job in i.i industry just build your portporlio learned something and publish it. kung sa tingin mo kampante kana. apply lang. nag graduate ako noong 2008 na hindi pa masyado advance ang technology. nakapagtrabaho din ako kahit ano.. mga mall at iba pa. pero nag aim talaga akong mag land ng job sa i.t ang ginawa ko ng build ako portfolio mag learn ako ng mobile development then publish sa sa playstore as my portfolio. nag learn din ako ng web development yung mga technology na hindi obsolete. sa awa ng dios matagal na ako sa I.T industry. i'm working now as mobile developer remotely.

    Just to add...

In the academe's perspective, there's no such thing as *obsolete*. If I say "C language" or "Pascal Language", sounds *obsolete* right? Most of the free and open source software/programs were written in C language. Even the linux kernel, where most of the linux distros' core are based, were written in C. Its creator (Linus Torvalds) was a student when he created it. So this thing depends on the path you're going. Since programming industry is very broad. To complete my example, Pascal. The question is, who uses it? In Russia, it's popular in schools and universities (via PascalABC.Net). There's also Lazarus/FreePascal which is still active today. And Delphi as well. When I was a student, I also questioned our school why they're letting us use obsolete PL even the OS and apps. It became clear when I also became a teacher (one issue was the license during that time) . Though, an advantage if it is industry based. The important thing here is the *foundation* and your enthusiasm to learn. You have two options. One, if you're after for the money (realtalk), go for what is used in the industry. Lastly, if you're in the academe, follow the curriculum. But you are free to suggest. If not granted, just do and love your job.

I think you should identify first kung ano ba talaga ang dream/gusto mo,:
    a. To be a programmer
    b. To make use of the course you've taken( which is programming)
    c. To be a teacher of programming
    d. None of the above
It is important kasi to know which is which dahil dun mo mabubuhos ang time at passion mo. Kung gusto mo ang bagay, kahit mahirap hindi ka mawawalan ng pag-asa, and it will challenge you more.
