Default [TUTORIAL] Extracting Different File Archives via Mobile (ZIP, RAR, 7Z, etc.)

    Hi guys and gals

I will post here most of the possible methods to decompress the archived file types.

In a computer, extracting different archives can be managed via WinRAR. But in our mobile phones, it is not quite native to extract those. But with the power of Java Platform (or Symbian, if you are a rich kid ), we can extract archives in our phones just like we did it in a desktop PC.

    Let's start.
    ONLINE DECOMPRESSING

You can fetch the link of your file, paste it on the proper textbox, then let the site do the work. Quite easy, eh?

    Examples of those sites are:

    WobZIP
    WapShare Unzip

    And many more.

Here are the Pros and Cons of these sites:

    PROS:

*Quick and direct downloading of archive contents when done
*If multiple files are inside the archive, you can choose a specific file that you need, if the archive is too large, thus saving your time.

    CONS:

*Cannot process links that need authentication (login info)
*Online decompression will be very lengthy if the file is too large (like 7MB or so)

    ----------------------

Okay na siguro yan for the online method (Minsan ko lang ginagawa ito), so let's go with the apps that can extract your files.

I will not put any impractical apps here. Just the apps with versatile purposes

    BlueFTP (Java)

    (Link)

*Can only process ZIP and JAR files.

Kahit hindi ganun karaming ang na-eextract nito na archive types, ito ang may pinakamagandang UI. May iba rin itong functions like rename, delete, copy, move files, etc.

Ito rin ang the best application para sa File Transfer Protocol (FTP) via Device Pairing, at sa pagsend ng files via Bluetooth.

    MiniCommander (Java)

    (Link)

*Can only process ZIP and JAR files.

This application is the worst when it comes in appearance (MS-DOS for the win! LOL), but this is the fastest tool that can be used if a user gets used to the shortcuts.

It also have a lot of functions for managing files, including the two-pane window para mas mapadali ang inyong mga ginagawa. The option to replace *.jad/*.jar with *_jad/*_jar when extracting is also possible. Very useful if you own a Nokia phone. Di kasi pwede direktang mag-extract ng *.jar files kapag Nokia ang phone mo. Feel free to try.

    PowerGrasp (Java)

    (Link)

*Can process ZIP, RAR, TAR, G-Zipped TAR (TAR.GZ) and JAR files.

This is the best Java application ever known for extracting files. However, pang-extract lang talaga ito. Wala nang ibang functions like file management.

    -------------------

As for Symbian apps, you will only need one application: XPlore

I cannot give links for XPlore, dahil I cannot certify that they are tried and tested by me. Just ask their respective authors. Those threads can be found in various sections of Mobilarian.

    Well, I'm out.

Post something here if you have questions about this stuff. I'll be happy to help.
